On Jun 12th, 2023, the Czech-Slovak Alliance4Life conference was held at the Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, where the Slovak Academy of Sciences had in panel discussion following speakers:
Prof. RNDr. Pavol Šajgalík, DrSc. – President SAS
Prof. RNDr. Silvia Pastoreková, DrSc. – Director of Biomedical Research Centre SAS
Ing. Zuzana Hrabovská – Head of Research and Development Department SAS
The theme of the conference was: Strategic management of science at the national and institutional level.
The conference provided space for a meeting of leading representatives of the governments of both states, including Prime Minister Petr Fiala.
The first director for innovations of the Slovak Government, Michaela Kršková, who acts as Director General of the Research, Development and Innovation Section at the Office of the Government, presented the strategy of the Slovak Republic.
The goal of the conference was the exchange of experience in the field of strategic management of research, with an emphasis on creating an environment that supports excellent science and on cooperation and increasing competences in the field of management and administration of research institutions.
