On 29 April 2026, the first round of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) Leadership Development Programme was successfully completed. The programme aims to strengthen the managerial and leadership competencies of senior staff across the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
A total of 24 participants from various SAS institutes successfully completed the programme. Over the course of several months, participants developed their knowledge and practical skills in team management, effective communication, handling challenging management situations, and personal leadership development. The programme also provided an opportunity for participants from different institutes to exchange experiences and share good management practices.
The programme consisted of five thematic modules:
- The Role of a Leader and Management in the SAS Environment I.
- The Role of a Leader and Management in the SAS Environment II.
- Managing Challenging Situations in Leadership
- Personal Leadership Development – There Is Always Room for Improvement
- Prioritisation, Vision and Self-management
The programme was delivered by FBE Slovensko, with Mgr. Daniel Bútora, former Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, serving as the lead trainer.
The Leadership Development Programme will continue in September 2026, when a second round of 12 additional SAS managers will begin the programme.
